Why do we need to do this

Original content from other sites will rank higher in Google than content you have copied to your site even when permission is granted by the content’s owner.

What does this mean

Basically Google believes that where an original article has been reproduced even with the owners consent, that the original should be rewarded and ranked higher in Google. Google is constantly scanning the internet and checking for identical articles. Pages that are found to be exactly or almost exactly the same are deemed to be duplicate pages. Google by default will categorise the one it found first as the original and rank it above the others and may even penalise your page. i.e. don’t do it and create original content for your entire site.

What do I do: Create or hire / get somebody to create your content and ask them to state in writing it is original content, nowhere else on the internet and giving you sole ownership of this content. You can obviously trust yourself but if you hire / get somebody else to create your content, double check it before putting it on your site and more importantly before you pay them. Do this by clicking on http://smallseotools.com/plagiarism-checker/ and doing the following.

You then want a page like this page

You don’t want a page like this

I have original content and somebody has copied it. What do I do: Google takes this very seriously and will remove these page from their searches. Thus your content is verified and rewarded as the original content. If your search above produces somebody who used your content without your permission, make a complaint to Google by clicking on https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/dmca-notice?pli=1& and filling in the following information on this page.

Obviously in the vast majority of cases we are delighted when our content is copied and displayed all over the internet promoting our hotel, just ensure that the first place is ever published on the internet is on your site.

Now check your entire site.
